In the fashion archives at New York Vintage, a couture shop in Manhattan, I tried on Madonna’s 1980s bird cage earrings from a Vanity Fair Italia shoot. The collection includes over-the-top pieces like metallic shoes for Studio 54 and a fuchsia dress reminiscent of Carmen Miranda. The newly launched virtual museum allows visitors to touch artifacts worn by celebrities like Lady Gaga and shop vintage styles by designers such as Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.
