The federal government has brokered a deal with Queensland to provide an extra $2.8 billion in funding for public school children over the next 10 years, bringing the state in line with the rest of the nation. This agreement will increase the Commonwealth’s contribution to 25% of the Schooling Resource Standard by 2034, benefiting socially disadvantaged and Indigenous students. The deal includes reforms such as catch-up tutoring and wellbeing initiatives, aiming to improve education standards across the nation.
