Hundreds of riders tested the new Southland BMX Club track at the 2025 BMX New Zealand National Championships, with about 600 competitors from NZ and Australia racing at Elizabeth Park in Invercargill. This marked the first time the track was used for a national championship, with nearly 40 local riders participating and thousands of visitors attending the event, which aimed to grow the sport in the region.
