The Chhattisgarh cabinet has approved a new rehabilitation policy that includes providing land to civilian victims of Maoist violence and increased compensation for the families of those killed during anti-Naxalite operations. The ‘Chhattisgarh Naxal Surrender/Victim Relief and Rehabilitation Policy-2025’ aims to offer higher compensation, education, healthcare, and job opportunities to Naxal violence victims, while also providing rehabilitation and legal support for surrendered Naxalites. The policy emphasizes balancing strict action with rehabilitation to combat Naxalism effectively, increasing compensation for informers assisting in police operations and those disabled during such activities.
