Storm Hunter experienced a whirlwind journey from being the center of attention in Melbourne to playing in front of just two people in India. Despite the drastic change, Hunter saw it as a sign that she was back to focusing on her goal of reaching the world’s top 100.

After her impressive performance at the Australian Open, where she reached the third round and achieved a new career-high ranking of world No.114, Hunter continued her good form with two top-100 wins at the Miami Open.

Now, she is gearing up to lead Australia’s Billie Jean King Cup squad in a qualifying tie against Mexico in Brisbane.

Reflecting on her journey, Hunter acknowledged the challenges of transitioning from the spotlight in Melbourne to smaller events in other parts of the world. However, she remained focused on her goal of breaking into the top 100.

Hunter highlighted the importance of staying consistent and problem-solving on the court, especially during events where the spotlight is not as bright.

With her improved skills and higher singles ranking, Hunter is optimistic about her future in the sport and is excited for the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup tie in Australia.

The team, led by captain Sam Stosur, includes promising players like Daria Saville and Arina Rodionova, offering a mix of experience and talent.

As the team prepares for the tie against Mexico, Hunter is embracing the opportunity to compete at home and is ready to face the pressure and excitement that comes with representing her country.
