The report used 11 metrics to determine the rankings, including median home sale price, affordability ratio, and homeownership rate for Millennials and Gen Z. Chesapeake and Virginia Beach in Virginia claimed the top spots, while Gilbert, Arizona rounded out the top five. The report also listed the five worst cities for first-time homebuyers, none of which were in the Midwest.
