Trump signs order to increase critical mineral production in the U.S.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order to boost domestic production of critical minerals, including uranium, copper, potash, gold, and possibly coal. He directed federal agencies to fast-track pending mineral projects with the help of the National Energy Dominance Council led by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, who will prioritize critical mineral production on federal lands. Trump will utilize the Defense Production Act to increase mineral production, while the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation will fund new projects in cooperation with the Defense Department.
