The GROW Project, aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs, faced scrutiny due to under-absorption of funds, with only Shs18.52 billion out of Shs75.1 billion spent, affecting the provision of credit to financial institutions. Concerns were raised by Members of Parliament regarding fund distribution, requirements for accessing funds, and the commitment of participating banks. The project coordinator noted that 2,175 women had benefited from grants in various sectors, with plans to prioritize funds for underserved districts in the next financial year.
