Woodmont girls volleyball clinched their first state championship on Nov. 6, ending a 47-year title drought by defeating defending champions North Myrtle Beach in a thrilling five-set match. Despite losing the first set 27-25, the Wildcats rallied to win the next two sets, but the Chiefs forced a decisive fifth set. Sophomore Mallory Mizell led with 24 kills, and junior Riley Gross contributed 53 assists. The Wildcats sealed the victory 15-13, showcasing resilience and teamwork throughout the match.
