Mississippi State softball is making its second consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, with a matchup against Washington on May 16 at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 in the Lubbock Regional, where Texas Tech is the top seed. Under sixth-year coach Samantha Ricketts, the Bulldogs (37-17) achieved their best conference performance since 2001 and tied their most wins since 2018, led by AUSL draft picks pitcher Raelin Chaffin and outfielder Sierra Sacco. MSU’s recent SEC tournament loss to LSU marks the end of their conference play, as they aim for their first super regional since 2022.
