More than 10 tonnes of cannabis were destroyed by police during Operation Beryl, which targeted Vietnamese organised crime groups operating 120 clandestine grow houses in Auckland. The seized plants, estimated to be worth over $50 million on the black market, were so voluminous that four trucks were required weekly for their removal.
