The recent disruption of transtasman flights was due to a technical fault in Airways New Zealand’s Operational Control System, affecting the cross-system transfer of flight information data. This issue forced five flights to circle off New Zealand’s coast and delayed air traffic, prompting Airways’ CEO James Young to apologize and announce a full technical review.
