Snake found in Christchurch traveller’s luggage after holiday in Bali

A Christchurch traveller returned from Bali with a live snake discovered wrapped around a jandal in their suitcase, prompting Biosecurity New Zealand to respond. Preliminary identification indicated the snake was a non-venomous wolf snake, which will be humanely euthanised, according to Wendy McDonald, the organization’s manager of biosecurity surveillance and incursion.
