Auckland engineer avoids conviction for filming sex worker

An Auckland software engineer escaped conviction after recording a sex worker without her consent using his Google Glasses, claiming he did it to maintain his erection. The woman’s suspicions were raised when she noticed the light on the glasses, prompting her to take them and alert reception staff to call the police. Authorities confirmed the glasses were capable of taking photos and videos. The incident highlighted that the victim had not given permission to be filmed.
