A young Auckland father, Sam Kenny, passed away on January 3 after a six-year battle with stage 4 bowel cancer, which he was diagnosed with despite showing no symptoms. At the time of his diagnosis, his children, Maxwell and Lucy, were only 3 and 4 years old. His family is now advocating for the government to lower the screening age for bowel cancer, as one in ten Kiwis diagnosed are under 50. They continue to mourn his loss deeply.
