Wet weather is set to persist in Northland next week following heavy rain and flooding, with some areas receiving up to 200mm of rain. The downpours caused power outages, landslides, road damage, and blocked access to certain regions. MetService meteorologist Devlin Lynden indicated that showers are expected to continue through Tuesday, particularly affecting Northland and other eastern areas of the North Island. While cleanup efforts are hoped to be aided by drier conditions, moisture remains prevalent in the forecast.
