At least three people were killed and around 30 others injured in southern Lebanon when Israeli forces fired on protesters breaching roadblocks set up the day before, following protests against Israel’s failure to withdraw troops from southern Lebanon by a ceasefire deadline. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun emphasized Lebanon’s sovereignty, urging protesters to trust in the Lebanese Armed Forces. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the protests, with journalists reporting being stranded at a UNIFIL base near Mays al-Jabal due to Israeli roadblocks and hearing gunshots nearby.
