Twenty-six students from a primary school in Hong Kong fell ill with acute gastroenteritis during a study tour to Guangdong province, with symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and fever. The affected group consisted of 15 boys and 11 girls aged 10 to 11, who were part of a larger group of 116 pupils and 12 teachers from Tuen Mun’s Po Leung Kuk Hong Kong Taoist Association Yuen Yuen Primary School. While two students sought medical attention, all patients were in stable condition, and health authorities are investigating the outbreak’s possible causes.
