Equinor’s $5 billion Empire Wind project off New York will resume construction after the U.S. government lifted a work stoppage ordered by the Trump administration. The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management allowed the project to continue following discussions with various officials, with Equinor’s CEO expressing gratitude towards Trump for his support, which is expected to save jobs and bolster energy infrastructure. The project aims to power 500,000 homes by 2027, despite previous halts that had significant financial implications for Equinor.
