While UAE-backed forces have not publicly responded to Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, there is hope among them that this could lead to similar recognition for the Southern Transitional Council’s ambitions in Yemen. Such cooperation could threaten the stability of the Houthis, primarily based in northern Yemen.
