The Turkish foreign minister, Hakan Fidan, emphasized that “Palestine remains the moral compass of our time” and called for unity within the Islamic world to counter Israeli aggression and expansionism during his speech at the Al Sharq Youth Conference in Istanbul. He argued that sustainable solutions to regional problems can only come from local actors who understand the historical context. Fidan also highlighted the need for a just resolution in Gaza, advocating for a sovereign Palestinian state post-ceasefire. He encouraged the youth to embrace creativity and perseverance in diplomacy, stressing the importance of principled resistance in overcoming obstacles.
