Israeli Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

On Thursday, groups of illegal Israeli settlers, under heavy police protection, stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem, conducting provocative tours and performing Talmudic rituals. Earlier, 182 settlers had forced their way into the site during morning and evening incursions, while 778 foreign tourists also entered. Al-Aqsa, the third-holiest site for Muslims, is located in territory occupied by Israel since the 1967 war. Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem in 1980 is not recognized internationally.
