Challenges to Global Legitimacy in the Middle East
No Clear Path to Peace

The recent UN resolutions calling for an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and reaffirming Syrian sovereignty over the Golan Heights highlight increased global public pressure rather than a strategic shift among major powers. Despite wide international support, these resolutions do not signify a meaningful peace process as they fail to address the fundamental asymmetry of the Palestine question and Israel’s ongoing occupation. While these actions symbolize acknowledgment of violations of international law, they lack the mechanisms to enforce change. Consequently, the international response remains focused on crisis management rather than addressing the root causes of conflict.
