Israeli Professor Starts Hunger Strike After Arrest

An Israeli university professor, Yolanda Yavor, has initiated a hunger strike in response to her arrest for calling Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “traitor.” Detained for allegedly inciting violence through Facebook posts, Yavor, a lecturer at Tel Aviv University, is currently held at the Kishon detention facility. Her lawyer claims the investigation is politically motivated and that she poses no threat, while Netanyahu’s office has not commented on her arrest.
