France urged Israel to respect Syria’s sovereignty following an Israeli attack in Beit Jinn that killed 13 civilians, including women and children. Jean-Baptiste Faivre, France’s charge d’affaires to Syria, condemned the civilian casualties and emphasized the need for Israel to adhere to international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. He called for regional cooperation to foster peace and stability in Syria. Since late 2024, Israel has conducted over 1,000 airstrikes on Syria amidst ongoing tensions in the Golan Heights.
