The Sudanese army has made advances in North and West Kordofan after intense clashes with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), particularly in the strategic Um Samima area. Military sources report the army is conducting attacks against the RSF while also advancing west of Al-Khuwayyi. The RSF, which controls all five states of the Darfur region, has claimed victories in various locations. Since the conflict began on April 15, 2023, thousands have died, and millions have been displaced, creating a severe humanitarian crisis.
