The Prisoners’ Media Office has reported that Palestinian detainee Abdullah Barghouti, 53, is facing severe physical and psychological torture in Israel’s Gilboa Prison, describing his treatment as a “slow execution.” Over 25 months, he has endured systematic assaults, untreated medical conditions, and starvation, leading to significant weight loss and severe injuries. The office claims Barghouti’s case exemplifies an “open war” on Palestinian prisoners and calls for urgent international intervention. Human rights organizations are currently barred from contacting him, and the office demands accountability for those responsible for his treatment.
