Israel Closes Ibrahimi Mosque and Imposes Curfew in Hebron
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Israeli forces imposed a curfew on Palestinians in Hebron’s Old City and closed the Ibrahimi Mosque to Muslim worshippers to facilitate a Jewish holiday celebration by illegal settlers. Activist Aref Jaber reported that military checkpoints were closed, restricting residents’ movement and forcing many to stay with relatives. Hundreds of settlers participated in processions under military protection, while Israeli efforts to control the mosque intensified. The mosque, divided since 1994, has faced increased restrictions on Muslim access, especially during Jewish holidays.
