The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned of a severe hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip, describing the situation as “starvation, pure and simple.” During a UN Security Council briefing, OCHA’s Ramesh Rajasingham condemned Israel’s reoccupation of Gaza, urging an immediate end to the humanitarian catastrophe and calling for the facilitation of aid and the cessation of arbitrary arrests of Palestinians in the West Bank.
