The UN criticized the US sanctions imposed on Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, calling it a “dangerous precedent” for independent human rights experts. This action followed Albanese’s report linking corporations, including Microsoft and Amazon, to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories, amidst ongoing violence that has resulted in over 57,000 deaths since October 2023.
