The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has called for three days of global protests from 30 May to 1 June to pressure Israel to end its nearly 600-day assault on Gaza, which has resulted in over 54,000 Palestinian deaths, mostly women and children. The protests aim to condemn what Hamas describes as genocide and starvation of their people while expressing solidarity with Gaza, Jerusalem, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Israel’s blockade, which has prevented food, medical, and humanitarian aid since 2 March, has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, prompting a genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
