At the 34th Arab League Summit in Baghdad, Syrian Foreign Minister Assad al-Shaibani condemned Israel’s violations of Syrian sovereignty as a threat to regional stability and praised Türkiye and Saudi Arabia for their mediation efforts to lift US sanctions on Syria. He emphasized the importance of a unified Arab stance supporting Syria’s sovereignty and highlighted the government’s commitment to establishing a national parliament and a permanent constitution amid ongoing challenges, including remnants of ISIS. Shaibani also expressed gratitude for the Arab support during this critical transitional phase following the fall of the Assad regime.
