The Gaza government has issued a dire warning about an impending famine threatening over 65,000 children, attributing the crisis to the ongoing Israeli blockade that has prevented essential aid for more than two months. They accused Israel of engineering famine as a weapon against civilians, with all bakeries closed for 40 days and 39,000 trucks of aid, fuel, and medicine barred from entry, violating international law. This complete closure of crossings for 70 days exacerbates the humanitarian disaster, particularly for vulnerable populations including children, the sick, and the elderly.
