The UN has reiterated its opposition to Israel’s proposed aid delivery plan for Palestinians in Gaza, which involves private US security contractors, as reported by Anadolu. During a news conference, UN spokesperson Farhan Haq clarified that the UN was not directly informed about a briefing given by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to the UN Security Council, emphasizing that the UN will not participate in any arrangements that compromise humanitarian principles. Haq criticized the plan as one that aims to control and restrict aid supplies, contradicting the UN’s commitment to impartiality and independence in humanitarian efforts.
