'A Palestinian state will not be established', says Israeli minister

Israel’s Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat firmly rejected the creation of a Palestinian state and a single, democratic state in the region, advocating instead for a fragmented ‘Emirates model’ of Palestinian autonomy alongside Israeli settlements in the West Bank. He warned of ‘devastation like Gaza’ if Palestinians do not acknowledge Israel’s sovereignty, urging them to choose between ‘Gaza or Dubai’.
