Poland is developing Europe’s most advanced anti-drone system, named San, in response to recent airspace violations by Russia. The €3.5 billion project, funded by EU loans, will consist of 18 mobile anti-drone batteries and aims to enhance Poland’s air defenses following drone incidents last year. The consortium behind San includes Poland’s PGZ, Norway’s Kongsberg, and radar manufacturer APS, with the first systems expected to be operational within two years.
