After a recount, Conservative Jonathan Rowe was declared the winner in the Terra Nova-The Peninsulas riding, defeating Liberal Anthony Germain by just 12 votes, with totals of 19,605 to 19,593. The recount was triggered due to the initial close results following the April 29 election, where Germain had a narrow victory before special ballots were counted. The judicial recount, which began on May 12 and took two weeks to complete, reversed the original results, leading to the Conservatives gaining two seats in the region, now represented by three MPs in Ottawa.
