NEW DELHI: Authorities have implemented Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in response to sharply deteriorating air quality in Delhi-NCR, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) surpassed 400. This decision follows the earlier imposition of Stage III measures, with the AQI reaching 401 due to stagnant weather conditions. Under Stage IV, all construction activities and the entry of certain vehicles are banned, while public transport and essential services can continue. The restrictions aim to mitigate health risks associated with severe pollution levels, particularly for vulnerable populations.
