China has denied allegations that Indian woman Pema Wangjom Thongdok faced harassment or detention at Shanghai airport, claiming their border checks followed legal protocols. Thongdok, traveling from London to Japan, reported being held for about 18 hours due to her Arunachal Pradesh birthplace listed on her passport before Indian consulate intervention. The Indian government lodged a strong protest, asserting Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. The Congress party condemned China’s remarks as an attack on India’s integrity, calling for a firm response.
