Shubman Gill Injury Update

Guwahati: Team India captain Shubman Gill is set to miss the upcoming ODI series against South Africa due to a serious neck injury, possibly sidelining him for the entire year. His condition is a nerve injury requiring rehabilitation, with expectations for his return only in January against New Zealand. In his absence, KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant may step in as captain. The selection committee is also considering bowlers like Akash Deep for the squad as Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be unavailable.
