A mob in Gopalganj, Bihar, set a police vehicle on fire following rumors that a biker had died in an accident involving a speeding car. The incident occurred when three boys on a motorcycle swerved to avoid a Scorpio, resulting in an accident and their subsequent hospitalization. Gopalganj’s SP Avdhesh Dixit stated that the crowd’s anger was fueled by false reports of a fatality, leading to the violence. The police used tear gas to disperse the crowd, and an investigation is underway to determine the accident’s cause.
