AUCKLAND: The fourth round of negotiations for the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) concluded after five days, with both countries expressing commitment to a modern and comprehensive treaty. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Trade Minister Todd McClay noted significant progress on topics such as trade in goods and services, aiming to strengthen economic ties. India’s bilateral trade with New Zealand reached $1.3 billion in FY 2024-25, highlighting the potential for growth in various sectors. Both sides agreed to maintain momentum and continue discussions to expedite a mutually beneficial agreement.
