HP Cold Desert Added to UNESCO Biosphere Reserves List

UNESCO has recognized India’s Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve in Himachal Pradesh, covering 7,770 sq km, as part of its global network, raising India’s total to 13 biosphere reserves. Established in 2009, this area is vital for its unique ecosystems, housing endangered species like the snow leopard and offering sustainable development opportunities through community collaboration.
