Uttarakhand Waqf board chairman Shadab Shams

Uttarakhand’s cabinet announced the introduction of the Minority Educational Institutions Bill, 2025, aimed at extending minority status to various communities beyond Muslims, according to Waqf board chairman Shadab Shams. The bill will establish an authority for recognizing minority institutions, ensuring quality education while safeguarding institutional rights and allowing study of Gurmukhi and Pali.
