Officials can also rely on field inquiry for inclusion of names in Bihar rolls: EC

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission (EC) clarified that Bihar’s special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls allows electors to submit documents until July 25, and electoral registration officers (EROs) can use alternative proofs beyond the listed 11 documents for inclusion. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the BJP for allegedly undermining voter rights through the SIR, while the EC defended its process, stating extensive consultations occurred with political parties.
