Ship fire: ICG, Navy and IAF execute high-risk operation; tow burning Singaporean ship away from coast

On June 13, Indian maritime forces successfully transferred control of the burning Singapore-flagged MV Wan Hai 503 to the tug Offshore Warrior, amid worsening weather conditions that threatened its drift towards the Kerala coast. The Indian Coast Guard, with support from Navy helicopters, is now towing the vessel 35 nautical miles offshore while continuing firefighting efforts, averting a major environmental crisis.
