Civil defence mock drills named “Operation Shield,” scheduled for Thursday in states bordering Pakistan, were postponed due to “administrative reasons,” as announced by the information departments of Gujarat, Haryana, and Rajasthan. The drills were intended to prepare for scenarios involving air raids and terrorist attacks, following recent escalations between India and Pakistan, including the retaliatory Operation Sindoor. Punjab has proposed rescheduling the exercise for June 3, which the Centre accepted, as their civil defence team is currently in training with the NDRF.
