In Rajasthan’s Karauli district, women like Sampatti Devi transformed their lives by encouraging their husbands to abandon dacoity and focus on water conservation, reviving dried ponds and constructing new water bodies with help from Tarun Bharat Sangh (TBS). This community effort led to the construction of around 500 water harvesting structures, improving local agriculture and effectively converting the seasonal Serni river into a perennial one. The initiative not only alleviated water scarcity but also fostered stability in a region historically plagued by dacoity and environmental challenges.
