NEW DELHI: Dilip Ghosh, a senior leader of the Bengal BJP, has sparked controversy by attending the inauguration of the Jagannath Dham temple in Digha and meeting with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, leading to accusations of betrayal from party members, including Swapan Dasgupta. While Ghosh defended his actions as a personal choice and embraced the government’s invitation, Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar distanced the party from Ghosh’s visit, emphasizing a collective decision to protest recent communal violence instead. This division in the party’s response has resulted in criticism from other leaders, including MP Saumitra Khan.
