Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah clarified that there was no opposition to the “caste census” during a recent cabinet meeting, which ended inconclusively and will be discussed again on May 2. He emphasized that reports of heated arguments among ministers were false, with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar supporting this claim, stating discussions were cordial. Despite concerns about the survey’s scientific validity and representation, discussions will continue, and ministers have been asked to submit their views before the next meeting.
